On the 11th day of the inaugural GOP Taipei, the curtains officially closed as the final two high-stakes gauntlet events concluded at the CTP Asia Poker Arena. The High Roller and Kraken Stack events wrapped up successfully, bringing a perfect conclusion to a thrilling eleven-day series with a tightly paced schedule.
Since its opening, the inaugural series steadily progressed, attracting top poker players from across Asia. With the final two events completed, players showcased their skills, endurance, and strategy, providing spectators with an exciting and action-packed poker spectacle.
Heng Zhe Hu Shines to Claim Kraken Stack
The Kraken Stack event showcased one of the most dominant performances of the entire series, as Heng Zhe Hu from China powered through the final table to capture the championship trophy and the TWD 766,500 first prize.
The two-day Kraken Stack drew 117 entries, generating a total prize pool of TWD 3,000,000. By the start of the final day, 18 players had already made the money, and within just three hours, the field was reduced to the final table. From that point on, Hu took full control of the action.
Once the event reached the eight-handed stage, Hu eliminated all remaining opponents in under an hour. He first overcame Chaehu Ryu’s A-10 with A-3, then cracked Yat Hei Lui’s pocket tens by pairing the queen with Q-5 offsuit. With a commanding chip stack, Hu applied relentless pressure, knocking out Brendan McManus, Sai Hung Li, and Yohn Paredes in quick succession.
In the end, Seokyoung Lee fell in third place when his Q-J couldn’t beat Hu’s A-8, setting up a brief heads-up showdown. Meng Xuan Ang managed to take one uncalled shove but was soon eliminated when her A-9 was outdrawn by Hu. With that, Hu completed a clean sweep and officially claimed the Kraken Stack title.
GOP Taipei Final Day Winners
On the 11th day of GOP Taipei, the final trophies were officially awarded, bringing the inaugural series to a perfect conclusion. Ma. Arlene Rivera continued her remarkable run, capturing her fifth Aphrodite Mirror of the series, while Alfie Adam added a fourth Mixed-Game title to his tally. Other winners included Cheng Feng Chiu, Kil Soo Kim, Tom Verbruggen, Santi Adultrakul, Yew Fatt Kan, and Sung Jin Yun, creating a diverse and highly competitive final day.
With the last gauntlets concluded and trophies packed away, GOP Taipei 2026 officially came to an end. As the first edition of the series, it quickly established its own identity within the GOP calendar: large player fields, deep tournament structures, and eleven days of consistent standout performances, making the CTP Asia Poker Arena a memorable stage for Asian poker.
Player of the Series
After eleven days of intense competition, Martijn Gerrits was crowned Player of the Series for GOP Taipei 2026. His consistent performance across the schedule proved unmatched, accumulating 24,525 points with 14 cashes and five titles, demonstrating strength and resilience from start to finish. Even after his winning streak cooled, his results had already left an indelible mark.
