Yunkyu Song will begin defending his World Poker Tour (WPT) Player of the Year title on February 18, 2025, with the season kicking off in Cambodia, the host of the first event of WPT Season XXIII.
The first half of the new season’s schedule has already been announced, featuring both WPT Prime and WPT Main Tour stops. The action begins on February 14, 2025, in Cambodia, located in Southeast Asia, where Prime and Main Tour events will run concurrently.
This thrilling opener marks the start of a brand-new season as players vie for the prestigious WPT Player of the Year title — and Yunkyu Song will be looking to defend the championship crown he successfully captured last year.
WPT Season 23 Schedule Announced
The World Poker Tour (WPT) Season XXII concluded in December at Wynn Las Vegas, where Scott Stewart captured the $10,400 buy-in WPT World Championship title, taking home a massive $2.5 million top prize. Emerging victorious from a 2,392-player field, Stewart’s win marked one of the largest $10K buy-in tournaments in poker history.
While Stewart may still be celebrating his life-changing victory, it’s time to turn the page — WPT Season XXIII has officially arrived.

The first stop of the 2025 WPT season will be held at the NagaWorld Integrated Resort in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
