Poker Dream concluded its 2025 season at its home base in Malaysia, delivering twelve days of nonstop action from October 23 to November 3 at Resorts World Genting. The festival awarded MYR 20.9 million (~USD 4.98M) in prizes and crowned 71 new champions, including the prestigious Dream Player of the Year title. Here’s a look back at the key highlights from the season finale.
As in previous years, Malaysia once again showcased its dominant home-field performance. The host country not only contributed the largest number of entrants but also captured 31 event titles, far ahead of all other nations.
However, other countries also delivered standout performances. Singapore scored two major victories:

Additionally, players from China performed exceptionally well with 42 cashes, while India recorded 32 cashes, demonstrating consistency and strong competitive presence throughout the series.

Carter Chan Wins the PD 19 Main Event
Singapore continues its winning streak!
On November 3, 2025, Chik Fatt Carter Chan emerged victorious in the Poker Dream 19 Main Event, delivering Singapore its third consecutive PD Main Event title.
The previous two champions were:
Dingxiang Ong (PD 17)
Kok Kong Liew (PD 18)
Chan outlasted a field of 1,547 entries and defeated Vince Cheong Kim Fye heads up. After striking a payout deal, Chan claimed MYR 589,000 (~USD 140,000) in winnings.
In his post-win interview with Poker Dream, Chan shared:
“After I bubbled the Super High Roller, I was very frustrated with myself. I made some silly mistakes and couldn’t control my emotions. After that, my friends told me I needed to transform my mindset and stay calm, so I set my goal on the Main Event trophy. I kept telling myself, ‘I must make it. I must make it.’
And I actually did it in less than two years. I had two small Poker Dream trophies, and now I finally have this one. In my dreams, I always wanted this one.”
He added:
“I use poker as a tool to transform my mindset. It helps shape my character. It has made me more patient, more calm, and better at controlling my emotions. It helps me every single day.”
Yujian Eugene Zhou Crowned Dream Player of the Year
Across five Poker Dream stops held this year (PD 15–19), the race for the Dream Player of the Year title came down to an incredibly close finish. Singapore’s Yujian Eugene Zhou edged past Malaysia’s Cheng Ming Kong to lift the prestigious Black Dragon Trophy, earning USD 15,000 in Poker Dream tournament credits.
Throughout 2025, Zhou recorded cashes in 63 events, accumulating 493,000 points—with 18 of those cashes coming from PD 19 alone. Kong finished just behind with 478,000 points.
Other Highlights
Malaysian Open Attracts 2,016 Entries; Redemption for Yew Faii Chen
The largest event of the entire festival was the Malaysian Open, held from 23 to 26 October.
The tournament drew an impressive 2,016 entries across ten starting flights, building a total prize pool of MYR 2,066,288 (~USD 489,265).
A total of 259 players earned a share of the prize pool.
South Korea’s Jongbea Jang secured the biggest payout with MYR 301,095 (~USD 71,295) after an ICM deal was reached.
Malaysia’s Yew Faii Chen captured the title, earning his first-ever career win along with a top prize of MYR 220,854 (~USD 52,295).
This victory was particularly meaningful for Chen, as it marked a redemption run—he previously finished 3rd in the same event back at PD 17, and this time finally claimed the championship.
Chi Ngong Tang Claims His First Super High Roller Title
One of the standout highlights of the festival was Chi Ngong Tang securing his first-ever Super High Roller title.
Third Time’s the Charm for Lay Sheen Lau – Mini Main Event Breakthrough
After reaching two previous final tables, Malaysian recreational player Lay Sheen Lau finally achieved his breakthrough, claiming his first live career title in the Mini Main Event.
In a competitive field of 323 entries, Lau agreed to an even-split deal with runner-up Kwang Hui Seow, and went on to close out the victory — earning his first official live tournament win.
Mystery Bounty Events
Mystery Bounty tournaments have long been among the most popular attractions at Poker Dream festivals, and this edition featured 20 Mystery Bounty events throughout the schedule.

High Roller Highlights
Poker Dream’s High Roller events continue to attract some of the most accomplished and decorated professionals across the Asian poker scene.
Thanks to the brand’s strong partnership with the prestigious Triton Super High Roller Series, Poker Dream became the first tour to bring world-class super high rollers and everyday high-stakes grinders together in the same arena — a rare crossover that perfectly reflects the tour’s motto: “Dream the Impossible.”
In the finale High Roller event of the series, China’s Xiangyu Yu claimed the title, securing his first-ever Poker Dream trophy. Notably, this achievement comes just two months after his final table run at Triton One Jeju, marking a continuation of his impressive momentum.
Single Day High Roller
In the Single Day High Roller, India’s well-known pro Aditya Agarwal hoped to redeem his missed gold from Manila and convert it into a PD 19 victory. However, his run ultimately ended in 2nd place.
Malaysia’s Kian Howe Yeo emerged victorious, earning his first tracked win and posting a career-high cash of MYR 193,000 (~USD 45,700).
With that, another thrilling season of Poker Dream officially comes to a close.
Dates and destinations for the next series have yet to be announced, but given that the brand launched in Malaysia in 2023 and has consistently hosted its largest festivals there, a return to its home base seems highly likely.
