The Player Series Taiwan Championship, held at CTP Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, drew an impressive 862 entries across seven starting flights over four days. With a competitive NT$33,000 (~USD 1,000) buy-in, the tournament easily surpassed its NT$20 million guaranteed prize pool.
Heading into Day 2, 130 players remain in contention for a share of the NT$24,570,000 (~USD 746,000) prize pool. While each has already locked up at least NT$60,000 (~USD 1,820), everyone’s eyes are set on the NT$3,601,000 (~USD 109,400) top prize.
Day 2 is expected to start with immediate intensity — short stacks will be fighting to double up early, while big stacks will look to dominate the field and secure strong positions for a deep run.
Leading the way into Day 2 is Sean Ooi from Malaysia, who recently finished runner-up in the Poker Dream Jeju $20,000 Super High Roller, earning over $300,000. Trailing him closely are Chien Te Lee from Taiwan and Yita Choong from Australia, the latter fresh off a 5th-place finish at WPT Prime Cambodia.

The flagship event of the Player Series Taiwan Championship kicked off on February 26 at the CTP Asia Poker Arena in Taipei and concluded on March 3 with the crowning of a new champion.
As expected, the final qualifying day drew the largest crowds, featuring two starting flights, with Flight F being the biggest — attracting 195 entries in total.
